Visit Tam Coc, a part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Aboard a small row boat, you will navigate through the flooded rice paddies that flank the limestone mountains, traverse caves and have a lasting moment to connect with the sumptuously natural tranquility of the surroundings.

Visit the temples of King Dinh and King Le in Hoa Lu Ancient Capital. The temples are dedicated to King Dinh and King Le, the two kings who lived in 10th century and chose Hoa Lu to build the citadel of the capital city.

The day is at your leisure to explore the charming Hanoi.

Depart to Hanoi Railway Train Station for a night train to Lao Cai around 9 pm (4 cabin compartments).

Spend the night on the train.

Arrive in Lao Cai city and transfer by car to Sapa town. Sapa is home of the Red Dao, Black H’mong, Tay and other ethnic minority people. Transfer out of town to the remote village Ta Van and Lao Chai with a rich culture that has not been damaged by the modern life.  Stroll through the surrounding countryside and enjoy the picturesque landscape of spectacular rice fields, mountains, streams and hill tribe houses.

In the afternoon, free time to relax or walk to Sapa central town for a visit to the market and Sapa Stone Cathedral. Local hill tribes fill the town with colour of their traditional costumes.

Transfer by car to the Fansipan cable-car station to begin the trip discovering the Mount of Fansipan, also known as the Rooftop of Indochina. Make sure you don’t miss out on this spectacular wonder of nature and experience Vietnam like nowhere else.

Return to Hanoi.            

Transfer to the airport for a short flight to Da Nang and a short drive to Hoi An. The rest of the day is at your own leisure. 

Explore Hoi An with your guide and be enchanted by the historic wonders and quaint charm of UNESCO heritage with visits to Chua Ong Pagoda, Chinese Assembly Halls, Tan Ky ancestral house, and the Japanese Bridge. Take a walk through town and seeing remarkably well-preserved traditional houses that have withstood 200 years of weather and war.

Cycling to Cam Thanh village, as the rice fields roll by, you will get your first glimpse of the local rice production methods which have remained largely unchanged over the years. Your exploration of the water coconut palm forest will begin in a quirky laced-bamboo basket boat (2 people/one boat). You’ll want to warm up those rowing arms before team are formed for a basket boat race, with the promise of a lovely gift for the winner! Prize in hand, head to a craftsman’s house in the village and find out how the local handicraft men create a variety of products for decorating and furnishing from materials such as water coconut leaf and bamboo.

Free time to relax or enjoy the beach.

Transfer to the airport for a short flight to Ho Chi Minh City.  The rest of the day is at your own leisure to explore this vibrant city.

Visit the underground tunnel Cu Chi, the intricate underground network of tunnels and chambers were first dug in 1948 to assist the Viet Minh against Colonial France and were continually expanded in the following 25 years. Now you have a chance to crawl through the tunnels yourself!

Return to Ho Chi Minh for lunch and a city tour.

Transfer to Cai Be town by car (3 hours). Here you will see the Mekong Delta which has extensive network of thousands of water channels extending over 40,000 km2. Board a traditional boat for a trip down the Mekong River, experience the memorable Cai Be floating market, and explore the canals and their lush green vegetation. Don’t miss the orchards where you can listen to the traditional tunes of the South while tasting a diverse selection of tropical fruits. Filled with vitamins and fiber, discover the local way of producing coconut candy and rice cakes and rehydrate yourself with a cup of honey tea at a beekeeping house.

Have lunch at garden Historic House, a wooden garden house built in 1838 adorned with intricate carvings and antique furniture. The impressive sounding and equally tasty deep fried “elephant ear” fish is a must try dish.

Depart for a trip to Can Tho, the largest city in the Mekong Delta.

Can Tho is a university town amidst three rivers in the heart of the delta. Once part of the Khmer Kingdom, many ethnic Khmers still live in the Mekong Delta. Life starts early in this part of the country, and so your morning will begin early for a visit to Cai Rang floating market which is usually already bustling by 7am.

Fly to Phu Quoc.

Your discovery of Phu Quoc – the Pearl Island – begins with a quick trip to Duong Dong Market, the largest and busiest outdoor market of the Island and Ho Quoc Pagoda, the largest pagoda on the island with stunning elevated view of the sea. 

Like wine in France and olive oil in Italy, fish sauce is the prized staple of Vietnam. Challenge your senses by exploring a fish-sauce factory to find out the traditional fermentation method which creates the defining flavor for Phu Quoc’s fish sauce. 

The pepper from Phu Quoc is reputedly one of the world’s finest. Visit a local pepper farm where pepper is grown the traditional way and stock up on some tasty black pepper to take home. 

In the late afternoon visit Dinh Cau Rock, the symbol of Phu Quoc where sand, sea, sun, and stone blend in perfect harmony. Seamen heading out to the sea stop their boats here to pray for safe return. Sunset at Dinh Cau rock is a splendid picture where the sun reflects on spectacular rocks and waves for a most romantic and magical moment.
